Silence fell over the guests at Arrowhead Lexus in Peoria on Oct. 3, as Randy McGrane, vice-chair of the Sun Health Foundation Board of Directors, was handed the winning drawing ticket for the 2013 Lexus Champions For Charity Golf Tournament.
McGrane paused before announcing the winner. It is Eric Wohler, son of longtime Sun Health supporter Jack Wohler. Eric was not present to hear the news, but he and a lucky golf buddy will be teeing it up on three of Pebble Beaches’ legendary golf courses, Dec. 11-15, in Pebble Beach, Calif.
Before the winning ticket was drawn, McGrane reminisced about playing in last year’s Lexus Champions For Charity tournament. “It’s about the closest thing an amateur can come to being treated like a pro golfer,” McGrane said.
Sun Health Foundation sold more than 165 drawing tickets for the 2013 event, which will benefit development of a hybrid operating suite at Banner Boswell Medical Center in Sun City.
Sun Health Chief Financial Officer Bill Sellner thanked the more than 30 guests on hand for attending the drawing reception and for their support of Sun Health Foundation.
