Thank You Is Not Enough

Post date:

Hello everyone,

My message is simple. I hope each member of the Sun Health team knows how much they are appreciated.

Your unending commitment to the health and safety of each other and our residents has kept our campuses safe from the spread of COVID-19. You have not only adapted to circumstances we could never have imagined, but you have overcome them time after time.

As I write this message, I feel like a proud parent. I want to share a note I recently received, that I feel epitomizes how well each of you represents the values of Sun Health and the pride we have in what we do:

Dear Mr. La Rue,

Imagine if you will.  It is late afternoon on a summer Saturday, with temperatures still at 100 degrees.  All of a sudden, things in your casita seem to be getting hotter; 101 outdoors, 90 indoors.  The air conditioner has apparently given up the ghost, and the prospect of a hot night lies ahead.  A call is made to the front desk here at The Colonnade, and a young man appears at the door several minutes later.  He’s the poor guy on weekend call, but couldn’t be kinder or more understanding.  After realizing that this is out of his league, he puts in a phone call, then brings a portable air conditioner to the casita to provide a modicum of relief from the heat.

Sunday morning comes, and with it, Antonio and his repair troupe.  In no time, it seems, the problem is identified and fixed, with blessed relief.

Mr. LaRue, this is why we love the Colonnade so very much.  In this instance, it is apparent that staff is responsive and thoughtful, and not satisfied until a problem is solved, and we are safe and comfortable again.  Please, if you would, recognize Antonio for his continued great work on our behalf, but also recognize the young man who started the process of resolution of our problem.  We can’t thank them enough.

And I cannot thank you enough.

Think about those words, ‘it is apparent that staff is responsive and thoughtful, and not satisfied until a problem is solved, and we are safe…’

I was speechless in reading those words because I know these values are carried out every day throughout all of our campuses. I couldn’t be prouder.

As we continue to keep safe and adjust to ever-changing COVID-19 conditions, please know you are appreciated.

And lastly, an important milestone. Happy 15th Anniversary to our team members at La Loma Village!

Although we were not able to celebrate together, it did not stop La Loma from having a great party while social distancing. I hope you will take a moment to enjoy the photos from their ‘Light Up La Loma’ celebration. The night included a deluxe four-course meal where residents could toast La Loma using glasses that lit up as they enjoyed the singers and dancers serenading residents throughout the community. It looks like a fun time was had by all and I am proud to recognize La Loma Village for providing 15 years of excellent service to our residents.

Congratulations on this achievement!

Thank you to all of you, stay safe and be well, Joe
