Aloha!

Flower leis and frozen fruit bars were a plenty as Colonnade leadership and staff loaded up Sunny’s delivery truck recently as part of the fun for the “Hawaiian Experience” event at the Colonnade.

Residents were encouraged to dress up in the favorite Hawaiian attire as they were gifted with the cool treats and lei’s which signify a sign of appreciation.

And of course, the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, made an appearance! Since Elvis was known for his Hawaiian films and concerts, staff decided it would be fun to have his Hawaiian flick “Blue Hawaii” play for residents to enjoy from the safety of their rooms.

Staff came up with this great idea to cheer up residents feeling a little blue over cancelled travel plans due to COVID-19. Paula Sikes, Director of Life Enrichment at The Colonnade, said they decided, “since we’re unable to travel to Hawaii, let’s bring a little Hawaii to The Colonnade!”

Mahalo (thank you in Hawaiian) to the staff at The Colonnade who made this great event happen!
