Why should I attend the LiveWell Conference?
The LiveWell Conference will feature workshops focused on holistic well-being to increase both your health span and your life span. It will include educational sessions offering practical advice on nutrition, physical activity, mental health, and longevity-enhancing activities and habits.
The conference is intended for adults of any age that are interested in not just living longer but living healthier for as long as possible.
The term lifespan refers to the length of time for which a person lives; calculated from the time of birth to the time of death.
In contrast, health span focuses on the length of time a person is healthy, rather than just alive. Key factors may include: a life that is pain free, allowing the person to physically do things they enjoy; having the cognitive capacity to be present; and an
emotional sense of purpose or connection to others.
For more information on becoming a sponsor or exhibitor, please contact Dionna Dallas Geiser at [email protected]
The LiveWell Conference 2025 is organized by Sun Health and Sun Health Foundation. Sun Health, founded in 1965 in the West Valley of Phoenix, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals through healthcare, senior living options, and community outreach. With a vision to foster holistic well-being and purpose across all stages of life, Sun Health is committed to creating environments for aging well.

Georgianna Marie (“G”) is a facilitator, executive and somatic coach, organizational consultant, and advocate of wellness of all kinds – professional, mental, physical, social, and spiritual. After a 20-year career in the corporate training and development field, Ms. Marie has developed an executive coach and consultancy practice focused on the nonprofit sector.
G has worked with a variety of agencies, helping them to create programs, engage members, develop their boards, expand capacity, and ensure greater overall effectiveness. Her clients have included: Experience Matters, Free Arts, Gabriel’s Angels, Red Better/Be Better, and the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
In her corporate career, Ms. Marie was the CEO of The GMarie Group, a learning and development firm that created large scale learning programs for corporate clients such as Bank of America, Disney, Coca-Cola, Price Waterhouse Coopers, and many others. The organization, led by Marie, grew from a one-person independent consultancy into a large 100-person firm that developed workshops, seminars, and training programs. Fourteen years ago, Ms. Marie sold the business, so she could direct her energies more toward the social service sector, community engagement, and health and wellness.
This interest in wellness has led Ms. Marie – a fitness practitioner and enthusiast – to become a certified yoga instructor, experienced dancer, and advocate of movement. With a strong interest in later-life in wellness, G has developed a particular expertise in the challenges facing mid-life transitions and finding meaning and fulfillment in the years following building careers, raising families, and acquiring “success.”
A firm believer in life-long learning, G contends that everyone can continue to evolve and grow throughout life. She has demonstrated this belief, not only through her work as a coach and facilitator, but through her continued evolution personally. In her spare time, she hikes and bikes, sings in a local community choir, does yoga and Pilates, and has recently completed her first book.
Ms. Marie has an M.Ed. in Adult Learning, an MA in Psychology, a BA in English and Philosophy, and an AA in Dance Technology.

Dr. Nicholas Ashton earned his PhD in Old Age Psychiatry from King’s College London under the mentorship of Sir Professor Simon Lovestone, where he embarked on a decade-long quest to develop an accurate blood test for Alzheimer’s disease. In 2018, he joined the world-renowned laboratory of Dr. Henrik Zetterberg at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, leading a team in the pioneering development and implementation of Alzheimer’s disease blood tests—particularly phosphorylated tau (p-tau)—in research settings. These tests now form the foundation of widely used clinical diagnostics and are currently under evaluation by the FDA.
Notably, Dr. Ashton was the lead investigator for the first commercially available immunoassay for p-tau217, which became the most downloaded research article in the field of dementia in 2024. Over the past five years, he has published more than 400 original research articles and is among the youngest scientists listed on Clarivate’s “Highly Cited Researchers” list (2023, 2024). He is widely recognized for his leadership and international collaborations, playing a pivotal role in advancing biomarker research. His contributions have earned him several prestigious awards, including the Queen of Sweden Research Prize (2023), the Viola Bergqvist Award for Mentorship (2024), and the European Researcher Prize in Dementia (2025).
In his new role as Senior Director of the Fluid Biomarker Laboratory at Banner Sun Health Research Institute (BSHRI), Dr. Ashton continues to refine and evaluate blood tests for Alzheimer’s disease, particularly assessing their role in the prevention of the disease. His laboratory serves as a critical resource for research institutions and biotech companies across Arizona, the U.S., and internationally. His latest research focuses on developing at-home tests for Alzheimer’s disease risk assessment and expanding similar biomarker-based diagnostics for other types of dementia (e.g., Lewy body disease) which is currently an unmet need.
