Building our vibrant future
How exciting it is to join together to celebrate Banner Boswell’s 50th Anniversary in 2020. And the 50 years of Heroes with Heart reflecting a long-standing commitment to compassionate medical care. It is deeply meaningful for Banner Boswell and Banner Del E. Webb medical centers to share the story of superior health care with Sun Health Foundation. We are proud philanthropic partners indeed!
In fact, the story begins with Sun Health Foundation and those early pioneers in the 1960s going door to door to collect funds supporting the construction of Boswell Hospital and its opening in November 1970.
The story continues. With ongoing support for Sun Health Foundation’s Generosity for Generations Campaign, the future of health care is one we all build together so we can envision a world where people live longer, healthier, more purposeful lives.
Speaking of building, we’re pleased to announce Banner Boswell’s new Emergency Department (ED) opened for first patient use on October 6th and remains committed to serving safe and reliable care to patients in Northwest Valley. We are so grateful to the many donors who have supported the Campaign through donations to help build the beautiful new 40,000 sq foot, state-of-the-art facility that will allow for future growth to serve generations to come. Opportunities continue to be available to support this project.
Banner Boswell is taking all the necessary precautions in our new ED to be a safe for care, remaining in a split flow model to isolate COVID 19 patients while continuing to care for all other emergency medical needs of our community.
Prioritizing health and safety at every turn, teams at Banner Boswell and Del E. Webb are working diligently to continue educating the community and staff about the importance of masking, social distancing and hand washing routines to limit the spread of coronavirus. These safety measures required while in the workplace and habits also carry over in their personal lives. We have dedicated COVID 19 inpatient units staffed with highly trained physicians and nurses, equipped with proper protective equipment, knowledgeable about the latest treatment and care plans for COVID 19 patients. These COVID units are separate from non-C patient population to ensure the safety and well-being of all patients.
We encourage folks in our community to not defer your healthcare needs; many physician clinics along with our hospitals, have strict precautions in place to ensure the safety of you and family members. This crisis has reaffirmed the critical need for investments that will provide quality, safe and reliable care, now more than ever.
These proactive measures, along with community members’ continued diligence around social distancing, proper hand hygiene and wearing a mask in public, are helping to lessen the spread of coronavirus in the community.
As we celebrate these milestones, we continue to look ahead. In addition to the opening of our new ED, in January Banner Boswell is preparing to open our new hospital main lobby in the beautiful new six-story patient care tower.
We are deeply proud and honored to join together in support of Banner Health’s life-changing work. Together with the community, the legacy of superior health care continues to ensure a vibrant future.
