SURPRISE, ARIZ, May 10, 2016 – Sun Health’s Center for Health & Wellbeing has hired registered dietitian nutritionist and certified diabetes educator Susan Welter to provide nutrition education and diabetes self-management training at its Surprise, Sun City and Litchfield Park locations.

Welter has practiced clinical and community nutrition for more than 15 years, most recently as a diabetes educator and clinical dietitian for Cigna Medical Group.

She also has worked as a registered dietitian in hospitals, outpatient clinics and in community health programs, including Sun Health where she served as a community education dietitian from 2002 to 2007.

“I am passionate about helping people achieve their optimal level of health through healthy eating, physical activity and stress reduction,” Welter said.

The California native graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s in human nutrition and dietetics. In her spare time, she runs marathons, having completed 20 of them including the Boston Marathon.

She joins registered dietitian/certified diabetes educator Tracy Garrett, exercise physiologist/health coach Rhonda Zonoozi and other professionals who make up the Center for Health & Wellbeing staff.
