With the LiveWell Conference returning this November, Nora Hannah, Sun Health’s Chief Engagement Officer and the visionary behind LiveWell, reflects on the inspiration behind the conference, lessons from its first year, and what she hopes attendees will gain this year.
For Nora, LiveWell has always been about making health and well-being resources accessible to everyone.
“Sun Health has an amazing history of bringing healthcare resources to the community. From the founding of two hospitals and a research institute, to the programs offered through our Center for Health and Wellbeing, Sun Health has been on a mission to improve lives,” Nora explains.
The conference grew from that same idea: bringing valuable information about health, longevity, preventive care, and well-being together in one place that would be accessible to everyone.
Last year’s inaugural conference was a resounding success. “The people who attended left motivated and energized,” she says. “It surpassed their expectations.”
One of the biggest takeaways was how eager attendees were to share the experience with others. They discovered new ideas, gained practical insights, and left thinking, everyone should attend this conference!
That enthusiasm is helping to shape this year’s event, which will offer a full day of inspiration, learning, and discovery. Attendees can expect practical ideas and new perspectives on managing their healthcare, fitness, and well-being, with meaningful insights that can spark positive change.
For Nora, living well is personal. Her father lived into his late 80s and her mother to 98, remaining active and fit almost to the end. Their example helped shape Nora’s lifelong interest in fitness, health, and learning.
“I’ve always been active and had a healthy diet, and I had great role models in my parents,” she shares. “Learning more about health and longevity has been a journey, and Sun Health has given me an incredible opportunity to use what I’ve learned to help the broader community.”
Now, Nora finds herself entering a new chapter of her own. “My husband will be retiring, and we’ve been asking ourselves, ‘Who are we becoming, and what is our journey?’ If I’m anything like my mother, I’ve got decades and decades left—and I find myself wondering, ‘What do I want to make of them?’ I hope everyone can feel as optimistic about the future as I do.”
That optimism is at the heart of what she hopes people experience at LiveWell: the belief that there is always something new to learn, ways to improve well-being, and opportunities ahead.
Most of all, Nora hopes attendees leave with a sense of agency.
“We have choices, and we have the ability to make things better for ourselves,” she says. “We have the ability to shape our lives, including our cognitive, physical, and mental health.”
She hopes attendees leave feeling empowered to create a future filled with health, purpose, and potential.
Join us this November and discover new ideas, new possibilities, and new ways to live well.
