More than 100 kids with craniofacial deformities were showered with gifts at the Craniofacial Foundation of Arizona’s (CFA) annual holiday party, held Dec. 15 at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix. The gifts were donated to CFA by Sun Health employees and residents through the organization’s SHINE (Sun Health Involvement Never Ends) committee, which held a November toy drive to gather the presents.
Sun Health employees wrapped almost 100 of the gifts for the kids and donated dozens of unwrapped toys to CFA. Lori Takeuchi, program coordinator for CFA, was deeply touched by the generosity.
“The gifts were over the top and the families were so happy,” Takeuchi said.
Several Sun Health employees attended the party and helped the children with craft activities and visiting with Santa Claus. The Phoenix Fire Department also provided assistance during the party. Two photos have been attached – one features craniofacial patient Sadie Schrieber opening a present during the party. The second photo features Sadie and brother Dylan sitting on Santa’s lap.
