SURPRISE, ARIZ. – June 30, 2015 – Sun Health’s Center for Health & Wellbeing has hired registered dietitian Margaret Brown to provide nutrition services to its clients at its Surprise, Sun City and Litchfield Park locations.
Brown has practiced clinical nutrition for more than 27 years, most recently as a clinical service liaison in home care for Coram/CVS Specialty Infusion in Indianapolis.
In her career, she has worked as a clinical dietitian and a consultant for hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities, senior centers, group homes and schools.
At the Center for Health & Wellbeing, her duties include: educating patients how to eat and live well with diabetes; coaching clients on successful and lasting weight reduction; providing individual and group nutrition counseling; and developing and teaching nutrition classes.
She joins registered dietitian/certified diabetes educator Tracy Garrett, exercise physiologist/health coach Rhonda Zonoozi and other part-time professionals serving clients at the centers.
“I am passionate about offering quality and compassionate healthcare to my patients in any setting,” Brown said. “The Center for Health & Wellbeing has so much to offer our local residents. It really is a dream job for a registered dietitian.”
The Minnesota native graduated from Mankato State University with a bachelor’s degree in dietetics and nutrition. Mrs. Brown served as the chapter president of the Indiana Society for Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition from 2012-2014.
Mrs. Brown and her husband, Andy, live in Sun City. Her interests include gardening, antiquing, bike riding, walking, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She enjoys traveling back to her family’s farm in Minnesota whenever she can.
