Sun Health Center for Health & Wellbeing Names Director; Hires Dietician, Exercise Physiologist & Certified Diabetes Educator
Sun Health’s non-profit Center for Health & Wellbeing, which celebrates its grand opening on Wednesday, March 19, recently hired Nancy Webber, RN, MSN, to serve as director of its chronic disease and wellness programs. In addition, Tracy Garrett, RD, joins the staff as the Center’s dietitian; Rhonda Zonoozi, BS, CHWC, HFS as its exercise physiologist and health coach; and Deborah Burns, RN, MSN, CDE as its certified diabetes educator.
“Nancy brings tremendous leadership, while Tracy, Rhonda and Deborah all bring expertise to our staff,” said Jennifer Drago, Sun Health’s vice president of business development. “We’ve assembled a talented team of dedicated professionals to help us launch this new health service to the community.”
Webber, a Phoenix resident, oversees the Sun Health Center for Health & Wellbeing, a unique resource providing education and personalized consultation from health professionals to help those afflicted by chronic cardiac and pulmonary conditions and diabetes to improve the health and quality life ; as well as Sun Health Care Transitions, a nationally recognized chronic disease management program. With more than three decades of nursing experience, Webber has held several nursing leadership positions at universities and most recently served as director of progressive care/professional practice at Banner Boswell Medical Center.
Webber earned her post-masters nursing education from Grand Canyon University, her masters in nursing from the University of Phoenix and her bachelor’s of nursing from Grand Canyon University. (See her mention in the Phoenix Business Journal!)
As a registered dietician, Garrett, a Surprise resident, will provide comprehensive nutritional assessments and develop appropriate nutrition care plans for clients. She will also develop and present community education programming around nutrition and healthy eating.
Garrett most recently served as a prevention and wellness dietitian for Banner Health. During her career, she worked with people of all ages and stages of health, including those with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, renal failure and heart disease. She holds a bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition science with a chemistry minor from Northern Arizona University as well as certificates in adult weight management and personal training. Zonoozi, a resident of Peoria, will develop, implement and evaluate a range of health promotion
activities and programs. She will also work closely with clients to develop personalized exercise plans delivering maximum benefit.
Zonoozi comes to Sun Health from Banner Health, where she developed facility-based health promotion services and programs and coordinated educational and exercise classes for employees. She earned a bachelor’s degree in health management from Friends University in Wichita, Kan., and a minor in business administration. She also holds certifications as an American College of Sports Medicine Health Fitness Specialist; WellCoaches Certified Wellness Coach; and Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist (CEAS II). As the nurse practitioner and certified diabetic educator at Sun Health Center for Health & Wellbeing, Burns, a resident of New River, works closely with clients to manage chronic illnesses, optimize their overall health and supervise weight loss and other lifestyle enhancements.
With more than 30 years as a nurse, case manager and certified diabetes educator, Burns, a resident of New River, has worked with many clients affected by chronic disease. Most recently she served as a case manager and certified diabetes educator for Banner Health where she focused on disease education for diabetic and heart disease populations.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in the science of nursing from the University of Delaware and a master’s degree in the science of nursing, family nurse practitioner from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. (See her mention in the Phoenix Business Journal!)
