On Nov. 9, 400-plus party-goers helped transform the Wigwam Arizona into a“magical” place during the 2013 Healthy SUNsations Gala “The Magic of Miracles” fundraiser.

The event conjured up $125,000 in support of Parkinson’s patient care and research at Banner Sun Health Research Institute, and at Banner Boswell and Banner Del E. Webb medical centers.

The event was planned and organized by the Gala Committee, co-chaired by Stephanie Goodin of Geriatric Specialists Senior Placements, and Penny Karle of Adultcare Assistance Homecare. “We are extremely fortunate to be surrounded by individuals, businesses and community leaders who believe in improving health care services and medical research through Sun Health Foundation,” said Stephanie Goodin.

“Thanks to community support, the annual Gala has become one of the most popular fundraising events in the West Valley and it has been an honor to be a part of something so magical for the past two years,” Penny Karle said.

Gala guests enjoyed an exciting night featuring a silent and live auction, a gourmet dinner, a video highlighting Parkinson’s care and research at the Banner Sun Health Research Institute, and entertainment provided by the Evolution Show Choir from Willow Canyon High School, magician Craig Davis, and the C.C. Jones Productions band, which supplied dance music for the event’s after-party.

Major sponsors for the Gala included Banner Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Advantage, BMO Harris Bank, Ensemble Real Estate Solutions, Northern Trust, S & L Printing & Mailing, The Weitz Company, Wells Fargo and Wigwam Arizona.
