West Valley residents have uncommon bragging rights when it comes to the exceptional quality of healthcare and wellness programs close to home. This was further demonstrated recently with the news that Banner Boswell Medical Center has been ranked second overall among Arizona hospitals in widely performed adult procedures and conditions as reported by U.S. News Best Hospitals. The report analyzed almost 5,000 hospitals’ performance.
The medical center recorded “high performing” rankings in several categories including aortic valve surgery, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, colon cancer surgery, diabetes, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, hip replacement, knee replacement, lung cancer surgery, and stroke. These rankings lead to positive outcomes.
“On behalf of the Sun Health Foundation Board of Trustees, I’d like to extend our congratulations to Banner Boswell Medical Center and the amazing teams of medical professionals who deliver outstanding care,” says Joan Smith, Chair. “We’re immensely proud to be the exclusive philanthropic partner for Banner Boswell and Banner Del E. Webb medical centers. Throughout the past 55 years, Sun Health Foundation has raised a total of $500 million from the community to fund advanced technology, equipment, and construction that ensures the medical teams at these hospitals have what is needed to provide care rivaled among the best. This tradition of community philanthropy is an inspiring story to tell.”
“What a tremendous honor to share in the story of our excellence in healthcare with our Sun Health partner,” says Stan Holm, CEO, Banner Boswell and Banner Del E. Webb. “This is a true testament to our continuous focus on improving patient outcomes and service. We’re also immensely grateful for our caring communities and their support – past, present, and future. Together, we’ll continue to meet evolving healthcare needs and remain on the cutting edge of clinical excellence.”
“Applause, applause! Congratulations Banner Boswell, from our Sun Health Board of Directors and all of us at Sun Health,” exudes Joe La Rue, CEO. “As a trusted community partner committed to ensuring healthcare and wellness resources, we’re honored to join in support of Banner Health’s life-changing work. Our connection runs deep – dating back to the 1960s when the first area residents launched a community-wide fund drive to support construction of this fine medical center and bring much-needed healthcare to the community. This began a legacy of generosity that has grown stronger through the decades to ensure expanding healthcare needs were met. Today, as new healthcare needs emerge, we invite our community to join us in making future medical innovations possible.”
