Banner Boswell Medical Center to Open Radiation Treatment Center Funded by Sun Health Foundation
Sun Health Foundation is proud to support Banner Boswell’s mission of excellent patient care and, thanks to its generous donors, recently provided financial support for Banner MD Anderson’s expansion of its radiation oncology services to Banner Boswell Medical Center in Sun City, AZ.
Opening this September, the new expansion allows cancer patients living in Sun City to receive radiation treatment closer to home.
Because approximately half of all cancer patients require radiation therapy as part of their treatment, often prescribed daily over several weeks, the location where they receive their therapy is important.
The expansion of radiation treatment to Banner Boswell Medical Center in Sun City will bring the number of facility-based Banner MD Anderson radiation oncology programs beyond the walls of the Gilbert campus to three. These services are also available at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale and Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa.
The program integrates radiation cancer treatment at all three locations within the Banner MD Anderson network, including MD Anderson’s world-renowned approach to cancer care and access to subspecialty experts in both Gilbert and Houston. Radiation oncology patients in Sun City will also have access to many of the programs and services offered at the comprehensive cancer center in Gilbert.
To celebrate the expansion, Banner MD Anderson is hosting a free community open house at Banner Boswell on Saturday, Sept. 12. (Learn more in their recent press release.)
