From Dec. 6 through Sunday, Dec. 13, more than 100 people walked in their neighborhoods, at parks and on walking or hiking trails. Participants not only walked their way, they had a great time exercising in the fresh air while supporting women’s health in their community. Some also added a little spring to their steps listening to music playlists that included songs with a walking theme: “I’m Walking on Sunshine,” “Walk by Pantera,” “I Walk the Line,” “Walk This Way,” and “Walking in Memphis.” Other energizing songs included “The Eye of the Tiger,” “Clocks, “I Will Survive,” and even “Grandma Got Runover by a Reindeer.”
The inaugural walk went all virtual in consideration for the wellbeing of all participants. The Walk benefited Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center’s Women and Infant Services through the Generosity for Generations Campaign – raising almost $10,000 thanks to the support of both participants and sponsors.
Thank you to our sponsors: Banner Health, Client Focus Printing, Hilgart Wilson, Morrison Living, Northern Trust, Orcutt Winslow, ROX Media Group, and Zion & Zion
While the Walk is over, support continues to be needed to support the exciting expansion of women and infant services at Banner Del E. Webb – to ensure they are able to care for the growing needs of West Valley families and generations of women. Supporting new life enriches our own.
