Sun Health Senior Living officially broke ground September 18 on The Colonnade Villas at The Colonnade.

The project will feature 36 condo-style apartments ranging from one bed/one-and-a-half bath, to three bed/three bath models.

Surprise Mayor Sharon Wolcott, center, joined Sun Health President and CEO Ron Guziak, Sun Health Executive Vice President Joe La Rue, Colonnade Project Manager Paul Vanderveen of Formel, HilgartWilson Project Manager Casey Whiteman, Weitz Company President Mike Bontrager, ORB Architecture’s Richard Alvarez, Greey Pickett Landscape Architect Richard Gehrke, and Greey Pickett President/Partner Russ Greey in moving some dirt into wine barrel bottoms that came from the adjacent Kokopelli’s restaurant and plaza, future site of Sun Health’s corporate headquarters.

The first residents of The Villas are scheduled to move in summer 2013. Eighteen of the first 36-units have been sold to date.

In this photo, Ron Guziak jumped on a tractor to get the project rolling and was joined (from left) by Paul Vanderveen Richard Gehrke, Richard Alvarez, Mayor Wolcott, Joe La Rue, Mike Bontrager, Russ Greey and Casey Whiteman.

Later in the day Joe La Rue, Sun Health Senior Living COO Sharon Grambow, Grandview Terrace Executive Director Bhakti Gosalia and Ron Guziak toasted current and future residents of The Colonnade and The Colonnade Villas.
