Post date:

SURPRISE, Ariz.- August 9, 2019 –Sun Health Communities received licensure approval from the Arizona Department Health Services (DHS) July 31 to open the new Assisted Living and Memory Support Center at The Colonnade in Sun City Grand, featuring 24 memory support suites and 26 assisted living apartments, which is scheduled to receive its first residents the week of August 19.

Sun Health received the approval one day after receiving DHS licensure approval to operate 10 new memory support residences at its La Loma Village community in Litchfield Park.

“I want to congratulate you all for leadership and efforts to design, build, equip and now license one of Sun Health’s most important new assets, our Colonnade Assisted Living and Memory Support Center,” said Sharon Grambow, Sun Health’s chief financial officer, who was also chief operating officer for Sun Health Communities until assuming her new role June 1. “Even the DHS survey team commented on what a beautiful and exceptional place it is. Sun Health continues to raise the bar in the senior living industry.”

The Colonnade Assisted Living
Assisted Living at The Colonnade combines the luxuries of home with the comfort of 24/7 support and assistance. The team of certified and licensed health professionals is available to provide a flexible range of assistance with activities of daily living including showering, dressing, toileting, cooking and medication management.

The Colonnade Memory Support
Memory Support employs the latest methods and research in assisting those with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. Memory Support residents live in a safe and structured portion of the community designed to prevent wandering and reduce confusion. Assistance and supervision are provided 24/7 by staff members who are trained to handle the complexities of memory care. A variety of life enrichment programs and activities are offered, such as music and art therapy, to keep residents active and support healthy cognitive function.

“We are excited that The Colonnade now has both Assisted Living and Memory Support located right on our 40-plus acre campus,” said Dan Liguori, executive director. “Our residents are very pleased with the new center, which will be open to residents of The Colonnade as well as the surrounding community.”

Liguori expressed gratitude to everyone involved with this project, which included members of the Sun Health Board of Directors, the Sun Health leadership team and employees, as well as those involved from construction and design.

“Obtaining the license immediately after the inspection was a true testament of the amazing efforts of everyone involved,” he added.

The Center is located on The Colonnade Campus at 19116 Colonnade Way. For more information about the campus, please call 623-236-3750 or click on http://sunh.org/the-colonnade-AL-Memory-Support.
